Meet Megan

Hello! I’m happy you're here. If you’re surprised and not sure how you got here, let me just start by saying the same was true for me until I took a closer look at the breadcrumbs that led me here.

The Road That Led Me Here

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 20 years in the tech industry. From the outside, my life looked successful and stable. I managed large projects, worked in fast-paced corporate and startup environments, volunteered in the community, solved problems, and was someone people relied on to get things done, no matter the ask. But behind the scenes, I was often stepping into a very different role: “team therapist.” I was the person coworkers sought out when they were overwhelmed, burned out, grieving, navigating conflict, questioning themselves, or trying to hold everything together while silently struggling. Long before I entered this profession, I was unknowingly doing the work of sitting with people in hard moments and helping them feel less alone.

My own healing journey through individual and group therapy gave me the courage to stop ignoring a deeper calling. Through that process, I began to understand how trauma, identity, relationships, and life experiences shape the way we move through the world, and even though we are all seemingly different, we have so much in common beneath the surface. Therapy didn’t change who I was at my core, nor did it erase pain, but it did help me reconnect with myself in a more honest and compassionate way. The concept of the “wounded healer” deeply resonates with me. Our wounds can become places of insight, humility, empathy, and connection when we engage with them thoughtfully and intentionally. I realize it sounds scary or overwhelming at first, but I promise you this is possible for everyone.

Professional Background & Clinical Approach

I completed my Master of Social Work from Syracuse University with an advanced clinical focus. My studies centered around trauma-informed care, attachment, group dynamics, sociometry, and experiential approaches such as psychodrama. I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from the University of Colorado at Boulder. These degrees taught me to pay close attention to context, meaning, human behavior, and the stories people carry. My professional background in program management, operations, leadership, and cross-functional teams within the tech industry led me to corporate social work, or supporting the emotional health of individuals, teams, and organizations navigating high-pressure systems and complex relational dynamics. Think Dr. Sharon Fieldstone from Ted Lasso, but in a corporate setting.

I understand the emotional impact that constant demands, workplace stress, burnout, trauma, and disconnection can have on both people and the systems they exist within. My work focuses on helping individuals and organizations better understand the patterns, relationships, and environments that impact their well-being. I specialize in trauma, emotional intelligence, communication, psychological safety, burnout, identity exploration, and organizational health. I integrate clinical insight with practical experience. As a queer therapist, I also understand the importance of spaces where people can show up fully as themselves without needing to edit, explain, mask, or defend who they are.

Whether in counseling or consulting, I bring warmth, honesty, structure, and humor into the process to help people feel safe enough to grow, connect, and create meaningful change.

Ideal Clients

The clients I tend to work with are adult individuals (25 years old and older), professionals, and organizations who are carrying significant emotional weight while still trying to function at a high level. Many feel stuck in patterns shaped by trauma, chronic stress, burnout, difficult relationships, or environments where they have had to prioritize survival over authenticity. They are often thoughtful, capable, and deeply self-aware, but may struggle with anxiety, shame, emotional disconnection, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or difficulty trusting themselves and others. Some are navigating major life transitions, identity exploration, workplace challenges, or the long-term impact of relational trauma and nervous system overwhelm.

The organizations and leaders I work with are often experiencing breakdowns in communication, trust, psychological safety, role clarity, or collaboration. They may recognize that operational problems are actually relational problems underneath the surface. Many are searching for healthier ways to lead teams, support employees, and create sustainable cultures that do not sacrifice well-being for performance.

My ideal clients are driven by a desire for meaningful change, deeper connection, and a more sustainable way of living and working. They are not necessarily looking for quick fixes; they want insight, growth, and practical tools that create lasting transformation. They are often people who value reflection, emotional intelligence, authenticity, and accountability, and who are willing to engage honestly in the process of understanding themselves, their relationships, and their systems more deeply.
